This week was all about fundraising for the pageant. On Saturday, my family and I drove to Princess Auto to set up and sell burgers. We sold from 10am-4pm, and had great success. The smell of the hamburgers drew lots of people in. Many people complimented the taste of the burgers, saying they were perfectly juicy. They were barbecued to perfection by my dad, so they were definitely made with love.
Since it was Father’s Day last Sunday, we celebrated by being together as a family. I have to thank my Dad because he is definitely one of my biggest supporters. He pushes me all the time. There are days when I sometimes feel pressured, but it’s worth it. I know he only does that, because he values hard work and not selling yourself short.
After school on Tuesday, one of my close friends held a Roast Beef supper for me. The food was excellent. If you’re ever in need of soup, sandwiches, or the best deep fried food out there, look no further than the Maymont Hotel.
On Friday night, I hosted a karaoke dessert night, it was a small event but nevertheless enjoyable. I love singing and karaoke, so I had fun either way. It was so nice to be able to enjoy other people’s talent as well!
To end off the week, I traveled to Regina with my coworkers to attend a princess ball. All of the girls are princesses, literally. I play Mulan. If you’ve never attended a princess ball, then you should. It’s a lot of fun; we sing, dance, play games, and take hundreds of photos. I love seeing how happy children’s faces are when they meet us, it is a very rewarding experience.
I can’t believe it’s less than a month left till nationals. Voting for people’s choice will begin soon, and I will let you know how to get involved. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, but mostly excited.
